Ashton, Andrew, Violet, Archie & Baby William

Ever wondered what a newborn session at home looks like or how it works? I have bottled up the most beautiful winter family newborn session to show you just how glorious, just how wonderful family photos can be at home with your new addition.

Newborn sessions on average take 2 hours, sometimes more, sometimes less! Why so long you ask? To capture the newborn squish, we first rock your sweet babe to sleep. This allows us to move babe into gentle poses that show more of your little ones beautiful face and sleeping squish. To have these photos taken in the comfort of your home, allows that two hours to be a more relaxed experience. You’re feeding your babe on your couch, you haven’t rushed everyone out the door - have your toddler spill stuff on them on the way to a studio. It’s comfortable, it’s homely - its your beautiful home - the first place you have brought your baby home too. For families with older children they are more comfortable in their environment, they can show you their toys and get to know you without the additional layer of stress of a new environment.

Creating portraits in the place you call home is special, it means you always have a beautiful momento of where you lived when you brought your special babe home to.

There is so much magic in the wisps of baby hair, toddler hands gentling patting there new siblings heads, the connection between mother and baby feeding, proud dads holding there little loves in their hands in the first weeks earthside.

Everytime I enter someones newborn bubble it’s not lost of me what an honour it is. I am so proud to do what I do, to bottle up the newborn haze. It’s miraculous, its beautiful and forever the biggest honour.

Happy days,
Meg x
